One of my absolute favourite fruits is pomegranate! That’s because not only does this fruit taste delicious, it has many incredible health benefits, but did you know that it is also used in skin care products to help fade pigmentation. When it comes to using pomegranate juice and pomegranate seed oil, I absolutely love the Weleda range because not only do they use 100% natural, highly concentrated pomegranate, they also combine it with other plants such as millet seed extract which may help to further fade pigmentation and other imperfections.

What are the benefits of eating pomegranates?

When you open up a pomegranate, inside there are as many as 700 nutrient-rich seeds closely packed together. These seeds are surrounded by fruit pulp and shaped into red drops that look like rubies! The oil taken from these pomegranate seeds contain many beneficial ingredients including punicic acid. Pomegranate seed oil is also full of antioxidants which assist in the rapid breakdown of free radicals and can stimulate regeneration.

What are the benefits of pomegranate seed oil in skincare?

When we are younger our skin is much faster at anti-oxidisation! This process slows down as we age which means that skin cells are damaged much easier. So as well as helping to fade pigmentation and sun damage, pomegranate may also reduce the visible signs of ageing.

A little about Weleda’s Pomegranate Regenerating Body and Face care

Weleda sources its pomegranate seed oil (Punica Granatum Seed Oil) from certified organic farmers. Each pomegranate seed is cold pressed and filtered to maintain its powerful complex of mono and polyunsaturated fatty acids, vitamin E and flavonoids.

The products within the Pomegranate Regenerating Body and Face care range work to reactivate the skin’s own vitality and counteract premature ageing. With regular use skin can look firmer, smoother and more youthful!

Which products from the range are my favourite?

Weleda Pomegranate Firming Face Serum
Lately I’ve been getting on the face serum bandwagon and this Weleda face serum has been my go-to! I have some pigmentation from my second pregnancy and this has really been helping. I use this serum after cleansing and before moisturising to reap the full benefits. This serum utilises pomegranate seed oil to also help aid in the smoothing of wrinkles, boost hydration and balance skin’s pH levels!

Weleda Pomegranate Firming Day Cream
The Weleda Pomegranate Firming Day Cream is the ideal morning moisturiser for mature skin. Its main focus is hydration so it works to improve skin’s elasticity and supports its natural protective barrier. I find that the pomegranate seed oil combined with other beneficial ingredients like macadamia nut oil, leave the skin looking firmer!

Weleda Pomegranate Regenerating Body Oil
Do you like applying a body oil after you hop out of the shower? I sure do, and one of my favourites is this Weleda pomegranate body oil! This body oil is best applied after showering when your skin is still damp. It soaks in easily and gives skin a healthier, more refreshed appearance. The pomegranate oil helps make the outer layer of the skin softer, smoother and more revitalised.

Weleda Pomegranate Regenerating Hand Cream
Looking after our hands is just as important as looking after our face when it comes to anti-ageing. Our hands are often the first areas to show signs of ageing! I love this hand cream from Weleda because it helps turn back the clock and give you soft, smooth skin. It’s the perfect product to keep in your handbag when you’re on the go!
