Here on the Nourished Life Blog I’ve written countless posts on products that naturally take care of hair, body and skin for both adults and children. However we can’t forget about the other important members of our families... I’m talking about our pets! Like us, our pets can have sensitive skin. Just as I wouldn’t put any chemical based products on myself or my children, I wouldn’t put them on my Labradoodle Oreo. So when I get around to washing Oreo, I always make sure I choose natural products! There aren’t many natural dog washing products out there so when I discovered Bondi Wash had a toxin free pet range I was so excited!

What is my dog washing routine?

Firstly I start with rinsing Oreo’s fur with warm water. I then apply the Bondi Wash Dog Wash to his damp fur. This dog wash is completely toxin free and made with all natural ingredients from the Australian bush! It’s full of essential oils as well as antifungal and antibacterial ingredients. It’s also an insect repellent. Bonus! If your dog loves nothing more than running around in the yard, then this biodegradable cleanser will have them looking clean and soft in no time at all! This dog wash has a very calming scent and relaxing properties that are ideal for pups who get nervous when being washed.

Next up I apply the Bondi Wash Dog Conditioner... yes a conditioner for dogs!! This conditioner works just like human conditioner by detangling their fur and leaving looking glossy, feeling soft and smelling beautiful! It’s perfect for using after the Bondi Wash Dog Shampoo because it is also formulated with ingredients like paperbark and lemongrass that relaxes both you and your dog! Other all natural ingredients in this great conditioner include essential oils and aloe vera that leaves fur silky smooth! Just like the shampoo, this conditioner is an insect repellent and ideal for sensitive animal skin.

If your dog isn’t a huge fan of being washed, then I recommend giving a dry dog shampoo a try! Just like human dry shampoo it works on dry fur, how amazing is that! Over-washing dog’s fur can dry out their skin, so using a dry shampoo in between baths is a fantastic way to maintain cleanliness. I love the Bondi Wash Dry Dog Wash because it’s made with all natural ingrediants and a blend of calming essential oils. This dry shampoo also has antifungal and antibacterial properties to help keep your dog clean. Your dog’s fur will be soft and glossy in minutes!

After I’ve given my pooch a good wash, I like to make sure his kennel is clean too! This Bondi Wash Kennel Spray is a miracle worker! I find it the easiest way to freshen up a smelly kennel or bedding. It has the same scent as the other Bondi Wash products (paperbark and lemongrass) and made with aromatic and relaxing essential oils. It’s as easy as spraying and enjoying your clean dog and kennel! Simple!

You all know how much I love Dr Bronner's! Here I cover the Many uses of Dr Bronner's soaps and that Dr Bronner's soaps are life changing! I have also written so many more blog posts on these magical products! Well you'll be excited to know that these gentle but effective products can be used to clean your pets! My personal favourite is the Peppermint Castille Soap which can make even the smelliest pet smell nice and fresh!

When I wash Oreo with this, I get his fur all nice and wet first. You can then apply the soap directly on to your dog. The amount will differ depending on how big your dog is and what sort of fur they have! For Oreo, 2 to 3 capfuls is the perfect amount! You need to put enough on to work it into a nice lather. Make sure when you are rubbing the soap in, you keep the soap out of their eyes! Once you've worked up a nice lather, you can rinse your pet off, making sure to keep water out of their ears. Voila! Your pet will now be nice and clean!
