Without proper and regular nourishment, our hair, skin and nails can easily start to become dull, brittle and dry, losing that healthy glow which comes with a balanced lifestyle. This is where natural skin care, hair care and health supplements come in! To help improve the overall appearance of skin, the strength of nails and hair growth rate, I really recommend enlisting the help of a few different supplements and natural solutions to help boost and restore vitality to your body's natural regenerative processes.

How to get healthy hair, skin and nails

Dull hair, dry skin and nails prone to breakage can all be linked back to genetic factors, but they can also be affected by your everyday habits. To help encourage shiny hair, strong nails and hydrated skin, our Nourished Life Naturopath recommends taking natural vitamin and mineral supplements to support body function and cell regeneration. On top of this, natural body lotions and oils can help to deliver nutrient rich moisture topically, while non-toxic nail polishes and removers are really beneficial in supporting nail health. In order to maintain healthy hair, skin and nails, your body needs a good supply of keratin, collagen and elastin, natural proteins which work to maintain suppleness, shine and strength. As we age, our bodies can lose the ability to produce these proteins as quickly as when we are young, so it's important to give your body the support it needs to keep up with protein production. It's really important to opt for a non-toxic base coat like the Nails by Nourished Life Base Coat. This provides a nourishing platform for varnish application, protecting the nail surface from staining while also helping to extend the life of your nail colour.

Fresh Therapies Nail Polish Remover Wipes
If you want your nails to grow long, healthy and strong, it's important to give them time to breathe, and that means removing your nail polish. The Fresh Therapies Nail Polish Remover Wipes are great because they're completely natural so they won't damage your nails at all or dry them out, which a lot of mainstream nail polish removers can do. No ugly yellow marks! I also love that they're in wipe form, which means no mess, and they are biodegradable too.

How to care for dry skin

Weleda Skin Food
The Weleda Skin Food has been a firm favourite of mine for years now, despite the name you don't actually eat it, but it will feed your skin with so many essential ingredients! Packed with natural plant extracts and oils including Sunflower and Sweet Almond Oils as well as soothing Chamomile and Calendula, this multitasker can be used for everything from moisturising dry nails and cuticles to hydrating split ends. It's also an amazing face mask, makeup primer and lip balm! Read more about my favourite uses of Skin Food here.

Curelle Cacay Oil
I just love a good multitasker, and the Curelle Cacay Oil is another real wonder product which can literally be used on hair, skin and nails. I love using it as a facial serum as it contains more Vitamin E and Vitamin A than Argan and Rosehip Oils, which may help plump up fine lines and wrinkles and conditioning the hair and nails! Just massage a couple of drops into cuticles and hair to encourage strong and healthy growth.
