Natural Alternatives to Mainstream Facial Essences

One of the most exciting things about embracing natural skin care is discovering alternatives to mainstream brands - even the luxurious, high end labels! I've found some natural goodies that work just as well, if not better, than one of the most famous Japanese beauty brands in the world.

Mainstream facial essences and brighteners have become such popular skin care favourites! A lot of these come straight from Asian skin care approaches, with the goal of refining the texture of the skin and removing any dry and dead skin cells to reveal a bright, radiant complexion. Liquidy and milky facial toners, cleansers and moisturisers formulated to purify, smooth and soften the skin are everywhere at the moment. One such brand comes from Japan and it's incredibly luxurious, with a price tag to match, so I set out to find effective, natural alternatives to deliver you with the same results but naturally, and at a far more accessible price point too.

Natural facial toner treatments

100% Pure Fermented Rice Water Toner
I've found a 100% natural, totally toxin free version of the popular mainstream facial treatment water. It's the 100% Pure Fermented Rice Water Toner, which uses Fermented Rice Water (or Sake) as its key ingredient, with the added benefits of vitamins, minerals enzymes and amino acids from Certified Organic ingredients such as White Mulberry, Grapefruit, Mushroom, Licorice and Lemon to nourish the skin, and may help fade any pigmentation, scarring and sun damage and even out skin tone. Apply after cleansing and before moisturising, and pair with the matching cleanser and serum for best results.

The Beauty Chef Probiotic Skin Refiner
Another great natural alternative is the The Beauty Chef Probiotic Skin Refiner, which happens to be one of my all-time favourite skin care products! It's more of a liquid exfoliant, working to brighten and refine the tone and texture of skin by removing any dead skin-cells and promoting cell turnover. Natural fruit acids and AHAs from fermented wholefoods, lemon juice and probiotics which may help to lighten dark spots, boost hydration, smooth out fine lines and firm up skin. To use, apply to a cotton pad and swipe all over the face after cleansing. No need to rinse off after use - leave it on as you would a toner, and follow with your usual moisturiser.
