It’s no secret that caffeine is seriously addictive! Although there are some health benefits to drinking coffee (improved memory function and alertness!), the cons often outweigh the pros. I’m always trying to reduce my daily coffee intake and cut this caffeine addiction! At the moment I’m down to only one coffee a day, usually made from the Ethical Coffee Company pods. They’re just so easy to use and completely biodegradable! They also do a decaf! To mix up my daily caffeine intake however, I’ve been reaching for matcha green teas and herbal alternatives. I’ve even been making matcha based smoothie bowls!

Benefits of quitting caffeine!

It may seem like an impossible feat, but giving up caffeine has amazing health benefits! Quitting coffee will actually balance your energy levels and improve your sleeping habits. You won’t be feeling so sluggish in the afternoons! Reducing your caffeine intake can also work to reduce your levels of stress and anxiety. As caffeine release adrenaline into the body, it triggers a fight or flight response that worsens these feelings of anxiety. According to Innocent Beans, giving up coffee can also lower your blood pressure levels, elevate your mood and reduce the feeling of headaches and jitters throughout the day!
