Hair care is a topic I cover quite often here on the Nourished Life blog, but I have yet to do an ultimate guide to natural shampoo and conditioner! As everyone has different hair types and concerns, I have made sure that I stock the widest range of natural hair products that I could find. Whether your hair is curly, straight, oily or dry I’m sure you’ll find the shampoo for your tresses. It’s so important that your hair care reflects your hair type so that you are getting the absolute most out of every wash.

Shampoo for Dry Hair

If your hair is dry, brittle or prone to breaking, then you need to be using a highly moisturising and nourishing shampoo and conditioner! For dry or dull hair I recommend using the 100% Pure Honey & Virgin Coconut Restorative Shampoo and Conditioner. This range brings damaged hair helps back to life and will leave you with stronger and glossier strands in no time at all! With ingredients like coconut oil, honey and avocado oil this gentle (but hard working!) duo may help tame unmanageable hair, detangle, soften and repair your hair!

Another great shampoo for dry hair is the Acure Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo, which is one of our best sellers! This is one of the most hydrating shampoos that we have here on Nourished Life so it’s no wonder why everyone loves it so much. Made with organic argan oil, argan stem cells, CoQ10 and other nourishing ingredients, this shampoo may help soften, repair and add an inimitable shine!

Shampoo for Frizzy Hair

If you have curly or frizzy hair then you will know how hard it can be to tame! For you I recommend the Acure Brazilian Keratin Straightening Shampoo and Conditioner. This set is perfect for frizzy or heat damaged hair as it uses keratin to smooth strands and condition unruly hair. Filled with ingredients like acai berry juice, pomegranate juice, blackberry juice and rosehip which may help your hair feel more hydrated and healthier than ever before!

Shampoo for Coloured Hair

Do you have colour treated or highlighted hair? Then I always recommend using a shampoo and conditioner that is specifically made for coloured hair. One of my favourite duos is the Lavera Colour & Shine Shampoo and Conditioner. This set leaves colour looking vibrant because they are filled with organic mango and avocado extracts which lock in moisture and provide a beautiful gloss. These plant based ingredients combined with keratin, work to strengthen and protect coloured hair.

Shampoo for Dandruff prone Hair

If you suffer from dandruff then I recommend you try out the Ethique Heali Kiwi! It’s a really soothing formula that soothes and regulates the scalp with it’s anti-bacterial properties. This anti-dandruff shampoo is formulated with ingredients like kiwifruit, oats and calendula to help keep dandruff in control and keep hair soft and hydrated!

The 100% Pure Healthy Scalp Shampoo is another fantastic option for dandruff prone hair because it uses the benefits of Burdock and Neem which may help unclog pores and treat the scalp, while stimulating circulation and also moisturising the hair.

Shampoo for Sensitive scalps

There’s nothing worse than an overly sensitive scalp, because it seems that every shampoo will only make the irritation worse! That’s not the case however with the Curelle Shampoos and Conditioners! Curelle is great for sensitive scalps because their products don’t any ingredients that will irritate your scalp and lightly conditions hair to make it more manageable. They also contains plant-based proteins and amino acids that restore balance and strengthens hair over time. Curelle have two shampoos and two conditioners that treat colour treated hair, dry hair and thin hair. Everyone is covered!

Shampoo for Thinning Hair

If you’re struggling with thinning hair then I would definitely try out the Andalou Argan Stem Cells Age Defying Shampoo. Using the restorative benefits of argan stem cells, this shampoo unblocks hair follicles, washes away toxins and lets hair grow freely. It may also help reduce split ends by softening each strand. This innovative fruit stem cell science balances oil production and encourages thicker, luscious hair! Andalou actually has an entire hair thinning system which has amazing customer feedback and includes a shampoo, conditioner and intensive treatment.

If you’re looking to add more volume to your hair, then I recommend the 100% Pure Kelp & Mint Volumising Shampoo. This gorgeous shampoo will put the bounce back in your hair, while making it stronger, thicker and shinier than ever!

Shampoo for Oily Hair

If your hair is more on the oily side, then a good clarifying shampoo is important. The Acure Clarifying Shampoo and Conditioner cleans hair thoroughly while using argan oil, stem cells and CoQ10 to support hair growth and strengthen hair follicles. It smells like delicious lemongrass and clarifies even the most oily of hair!

If your hair is looking oily throughout the day, you really can’t go past some dry shampoo to freshen up! One of my favourites is the Rahua Voluminous Dry Shampoo which cleans hair without the use of water! Just spray into the roots of your hair and wait a few minutes for the dry shampoo to absorb all the oil, sweat and dirt in the hair. Brush out and voila, clean hair!
