If you're getting ready to have a baby, it's so important to pre-pack your hospital bag. There's nothing worse than leaving it to the last minute! When I had my children, I was shocked with the amount of chemicals that they expected me to wash my baby with! Looking back, I wish I was more prepared and I wish that these items were available to me back then! To ensure you are ready and relaxed when it comes time to head into the hospital, I have put together a simple guide to all of your post baby essentials. Because every pregnancy is different, please remember to check with your health care professional before using any new skincare products, teas or supplements in pregnancy.
TOM Maternity Pads & TOM Nursing Breast Pads
As hospitals require you to supply your own pads, these are a must have. The TOM Maternity Pads $10.95, are designed to offer the ultimate comfort in those days after giving birth. Made with organic cotton, these pads are cushioned, breathable and hypoallergenic. I also recommend using the TOM Nursing Breast Pads $10.95, which are super soft and natural, and therefore shouldn't irritate sensitive or cracked nipples. Simply secure with the non-slip adhesive strip that is safe for both you and your baby.
Little Innoscents Travel Pack
If you want to avoid using harsh skincare on your newborn, the Little Innoscents Travel Pack $19.95, is the perfect solution! This handy pack has all your bathing necessities in one place. It contains a relaxing All-in-One Body & Hair Wash, a calming Intensive Soothing Cream and a replenishing Moisturising Lotion. It also has a gentle, low-allergen Vapour Rub Balm!
Modibodi Maternity Lace Boyleg
The Modibodi Maternity friendly Lace Boyleg, $28.50, are great for pre and post birth. They're not only ultra comfortable, they also keep you feeling dry and protected from any bladder weakness, sweat or discharge. They're the most fashionable maternity underwear I've seen and they are designed to keep you protected all day long!
Weleda Nursing Tea
Recommended by midwives, the Weleda Nursing Tea $18.95, is a delicious herbal blend that may help support lactation and soothe digestion. It contains gentle ingredients including Anise, Fennel and Caraway which may help to relieve colic, bloating, fullness and indigestion. All of these benefits are then transferred to your baby through your breast milk!
Weleda Stretch Mark Massage Oil
Stretch marks are a common occurrence during pregnancy, which is why we love the Weleda Stretch Mark Massage Oil $26.95. This dermatologically tested oil works to help minimise the appearance of stretch marks and keep the skin feeling supple and hydrated. Containing natural ingredients including Wheat Germ Oil and Almond Oil, this massage oil is so soothing on the skin! You can apply this in circular motions morning and night.

If your nipples become sore from breastfeeding which is very common in the early months, the Badger Nursing Balm $14.95, may help. Containing rich Beeswax, Sunflower Seed, Coconut and Olive Oil, this balm may help soothe and refresh your sore, cracked skin. Always read the label for instructions.
100% Pure Glossing Shampoo
Hair can tend to become a little dry after giving birth (or greasy from not having time to wash it as often) which is why we love the 100% Pure Glossing Shampoo $26.95. This gentle shampoo helps to remove any greasy build up and help bring shine and gloss to your hair.
Biologika Fragrance Free Hand and Body Wash
As a new mum you're constantly handling your baby, so you may want to opt for a gentle, fragrance free hand wash that won't irritate their delicate skin.
